About the venue

A garden wedding in a fishing village

Madeira is a private house and garden in Pittenweem that hosts weddings for up to around 80 guests, usually over a whole weekend. Ceremonies take place in the garden, with a stretch tent and a bothy for the reception and dancing.

The house sleeps around 23, so most guests stay elsewhere. Pittenweem’s harbour, St Monans and Anstruther are all close by, which means you can stay within walking distance or a short taxi ride, and still be by the sea.

Wedding weekend tips

Before you book

Book as soon as you have the invite

Summer weekends in the East Neuk fill up early, and a wedding brings dozens of guests looking for the same dates. The sooner you search, the more choice you have.

Travel together

Sharing a larger home with friends or family usually costs less per person than separate rooms, and gives you somewhere to get ready and gather before the ceremony.

Plan the journey home

Village taxis are limited and get booked up for late finishes. Book a taxi or minibus well ahead, or check whether the couple has arranged transport.

Make a weekend of it

Many guests arrive a day early or stay on a night to see the coast. Our homes have their own kitchens, so a slow breakfast the morning after is easy.

About us

A Family Business, A Local Heart

East Fife Holiday Homes is run by Jordan and Gemma, a local, family-run team who look after holiday homes up and down the Fife coast. We’re not a faceless agency: we live here, and we care about the villages our guests come to enjoy.

When East Fife Holiday Homes joined the Short Stay family in 2025, we kept what guests loved about it: the Elie office, hands-on local service and a carefully chosen collection of homes across the East Neuk.

Our ethos is simple: people first. Whether it’s a harbour cottage for two in Pittenweem or a big family house by the beach in Elie, every stay gets the same care.

“We’re proud to welcome guests to the East Neuk and share the best of this stretch of coast.” — Jordan & Gemma
